AQUA AND JC PASTEL FAVOURITES

Following my recent blog post on Pastels thought I'd do another one on my personal favorites...

I have a growing collection of AQAQ clothing in particular dresses as I have been buying there pieces for the last year or so. I absolutely luuuuurve AQAQ they create the most exquisite, structural, defining attire yet feminine at the same time. I would strongly recommend for any lady who enjoys wearing refined clothing to try Aqua. Bare in mind that Aqua clothing can be expensive but worth every penny due to the quality of the clothing.

 AQ/AQ  £100

I bought this dress a while ago whilst it was full price It did go into sale the last time I checked I'm not too not whether it is still on the AQ/AQ website however keep a look out on asos and possibly ebay. I haven't had a chance to wear this yet beauty yet as soon as a little bit of sun comes out I'm definitely wearing it accompanied by these beautiful...

JEFFERY CAMPBELLS (JC)
which speak for themselves. Unfortunately I do not know the price or where they are actually from as my partner gave me both pairs as a birthday present. I taught him well didn't I girls :)  Although  I have previously purchased JC's on karmaloop you could try this website and see if you find them or anything similar.

PASTEL TAKE OVER A/W 13

Heeeeeyyyy babyloves! Another way overdue blog post, apologies for how long I haven’t blogged for, working 7 days a week and studying definitely got the better of me. So, where I have been … Well  I’ve started my new job at House of Fraser as well as working at my current job and I’m also at London School of Styling undertaking a fashion styling course which I absolutely love so as you can imagine I have been extremely busy and haven't given my social life and blog much TLC.

  Candy floss pink
So as you all may have noticed trending this A/W is pastels in particular coats which are noticeably over sized with a boyish silhouette. The most popular colour is candy floss pink especially in coats personally I'm not a fan of the colour pink in general, however I have found some beautiful pieces on the high st following this trend. This trend was one of the styling briefs I was assigned to do from London School Of Styling a few weeks ago  ‘Pastel Hitchcock’ inspired by Alfred Hitchcock. I found that shopping for this brief was quite difficult as I struggled to find complete outfits with the exact shade. I spent the whole day in Birmingham city centre and out out of all the shops on the high st Topshop was the best shop for this trend so if anybody is shopping for anything of fhe pastel shade I recommend Topshop 100%. Here are some of the pieces I got hold of all from the High St.

TS Fluffy Pelmet Skirt £35

How I Wear Pastels...
As I've already said before I'm a little bit obsessive with one tone outfits as I think the overall look adds so much more sophistication to any outfit.  Mint Green and Powder Blue are the shades I go for when it come to wearing pastels as these shades I find suit and compliment my dark complexion rather than pinks and yellows as they seem to make my skin complexion seem a lot darker than what it actually is. I  have blogged these outfits before so if you want to know about the outfits in more detail  you can find them in posts Pastel Me and Milan OOTD2.

GET THE SUIT LOOK

Apologies for the overdue blog post! So last weekend I was lucky enough to receive an invitation to a fashion show at the Portugal embassy during LFW. As this was my first 'real' fashion show experience it exceeded my expectations and more. The decor, music, runway, photographers everything was just how imagined.

Obviously my battery died because that's what happens to me every time I go to London, I'm convinced the place hates me!
The only picture I got during my travels,
My traveling essentials.

Anyways here's a brief description of the shows...
The first show consisted of a combination of digital prints and light weight fabrics that were almost three dimensional off the body. The colour palette was very clean crisp whites with a splash of neon throughout. The second show was more ready to wear and defiantly my personal favorite collection out of the two. The garments were stunning with lightweight fabrics used throughout the collection which oozed beauty and class.

So this is what I wore...

If you know me and have read my blog posts you will know my obsession with the one colour attire so this is what I did here. The best thing about planning this outfit was that I didn't give a second thought about looking over dressed which is obviously the best feeling! I wanted to go with a classy, clean look.

I chose to go with the colour cream as I feel that if your wear it properly It can really add a dash of sophistication to any outfit, in my case I chose to wear it all over! The top is actually off white but with the cream tailored jacket I added against the top and trousers you could never tell as it gives the illusion of a 3 piece suit which I love. I decided to lead with black finishes (accessories, shoes, bag) as I felt it polished the outfit perfectly.

Top, H&M
Trousers, New Look
Shoes, Sole Boutique
Bag/necklace, New Look

Get the look yourself! If you want to get the three piece suit look go and grab three of your best pieces from your wardrobe in the exact same or similar colour of your choice. Make sure one of these is your best tailored blazer as you can't create the suit look without it! Get routing through your accessory drawer and pick out your best statement necklace fit your shoes and bag around your choice of accessories. Play around until you get the best remember to keep it clean, classy and simple!

MUST HAVES/ZARA SALES

Zara in store sale is a no go for me I try and avoid it as much as possible, it’s too much for me and guarantee I leave the shop stressed and sweaty because I can never find anything in my size.  So this time round I decided to shop online and I can proudly say there were no sweats.

 Loafers - £15.99

Black loafers I believe are essential in every woman’s shoe collection they are a classic shoe that are never out of trend. These are my 5th pair of black loafers and are by far my best they are more ‘dressy’ in comparison to my others which I love as they add they polish up any casual look and for £15.99 I cannot complain, I think there are a few more left online last time I checked so get searching and clicking.

Blue heeled sandals - £19.99

Zara’s basic heeled sandals are a MUST they go with anything and everything possibly one of the easiest pair of shoes to style. I already have the black pair and I love them so I obviously had to purchase the blue ones in the sale for £19.99.
The second pair I actually got brand new off eBay, I’ve been trying to find a nude tone pair of heeled sandals for a while and these are better than what I expected. The truffle pleats in the centre defiantly add elegance to the shoe which is always the right look to have. The only negative I have on the Zara heeled sandals is that the heel tips are easily worn down (that’s why you get a spare pair) If you have a pair I advise that you take them to the cobblers and get a metal heel tip, I paid £3 for mine in the cobblers in the Pavilions in Birmingham city centre and I’ve had no problems :)

 Parka, £19.99

I was in desperate need of a new parka as my last one is years old and is losing it colour so when I spotted this baby right here reduced to £19.99 from £69.99 it was obvious I was going to make it mine.  Usually parkas don’t fit upper half properly this is a XS at fits me perfectly it looks much better on than off too. Everybody needs a fresh parka in their life again so if you’re an XS your in look because the last time I checked they were still in stock.

HOW TO WEAR MONOCHROME/CASUAL ATTIRE

  Trousers, Next
Jumper, Zara
Bag, New Look
Shoes, Zara
Necklace, Aldo

So over the weekend I was in London attending a short course on personal styling in association with London school of fashion. I wanted to make a little bit more of an effort to casual attire, stylish and comfortable as I knew I was going to be on my feet a lot.

Monochrome wins again… I’ve said before if you want to create a statement look without over doing it monochrome is the look to go for. I bought this faux leather jumper from Zara in the sale a few weeks ago and I’ve been itching to style it up with these trousers I purchased for £4 in Next clearance. They’ve been hanging in my wardrobe looking depressed for the past month so it was a relief when I bought the Zara jumper. The style of trouser is almost like ‘track pants’ extremely comfortable and lightweight with a linen texture and feel.  Teaming the ‘jogger’ style trouser with the jumper/top kept the outfit casual with a street style vibe obviously a touch of class is needed with every outfit so it was a must for me to add a the classic Zara gold heeled sandal which carried my accessories off perfectly. Any monochrome outfit isn’t complete until a splash of red is added as I wanted to keep this outfit simple I decided on a red lip and nail.

MINTY FRESH

 Shirt, Tkmaxx
Jacket, River Island
Trousers, Primark
Nail Varnish, H&M

Ideal outfit for the in between weather we’ve been having lately. Lightweight materials whilst still keeping covered is a must for this climate as you’re not too hot or too cold. Keep the colour attire mellow not too bright and not too dark, I went for the turquoise pallet as it gives off a refreshing feeling. I have styled the outfit with chandelier drop earrings and a dressy flat to give the overall look a classy feel.
