FAMILY COUTURE

Family hand me downs are by far the best pieces to
ever be received! My nan gave me this stunning handmade embellished cape a few years ago which is 42yrs old and still beautiful. It’s quite fragile so I try not to wear it too much as a few of the beads have already fell off.  It’s one of those pieces you can add to any outfit and it looks 10000x better.  God bless the soul who created this beauty!  If you like what you see I have seen some similar recreations from BIBA in House of Fraser.

This Versace trousers two piece waistcoat has been sitting in my mom’s wardrobe for 18years, after months of constant nagging my mom finally gave in and gave it to me. The two pieces worn together is perfection unfortunately the waist coast is too big for me and I wouldn’t dream of getting it altered in case anything went wrong.

Enough rambling about the family heirlooms and more to the styling… as the waistcoat doesn’t fit it would have been a crime for me not to do black on black. Being as the trousers are a high shine patent leather I didn’t want to dampen the shine by teaming them with a basic top so adding the embellished cape was a must. I decided on a patent tip court shoe with a matching patent clutch and keeping it minimal with accessories I chose a black and gold drop earring.  This outfit is everything I love; couture, vintage, sophisticated, timeless pieces and my family.
